How this affects our recommendations

It does not. Our editorial team chooses and ranks products based on research and evidence alone, as described in How We Review and our Editorial Policy. We recommend a product because we believe it is a strong choice, not because of any commission it may earn.

The REMOVU Score

Every product we recommend is rated with a REMOVU Score from 0 to 10. It is our own independent rating, and it is never influenced by manufacturers, retailers, or affiliate commissions.

The score combines four pillars, applied consistently within each category: performance and results, design and build quality, ease of use, and value. We assess those pillars through research, drawing on published specifications, the consensus of expert reviewers, and verified buyer feedback. Because the score is relative to the category, the bands below describe how good a product is for its type and price range:

  • 9.0 to 10, Exceptional. Among the very best in its category, with few meaningful compromises.
  • 8.0 to 8.9, Excellent. A standout choice we recommend with confidence.
  • 7.0 to 7.9, Very good. A strong pick with only minor tradeoffs.
  • 6.0 to 6.9, Good. A solid option for the right budget or the right buyer.
  • 4.0 to 5.9, Fair. Noticeable compromises, and better options usually exist.
  • Below 4.0, Poor. Significant drawbacks that keep it off our recommended list.
